In the previous post we took a look at an episode that attempted to explain the attraction between Miss Buxley and Beetle Bailey.  The Sunday page above suggests that her co-worker Miss Blips might also be the subject of romantic attention.  Lt. Fuzz, a fastidious perfectionist, is the most likely character in Camp Swampy who might be interested in asking Miss Blips out on a date.  Of course his invitation follows strict army protocol.

Timeline – 1998 Part 2

It was a big fad back in the late 1990s. Beanie Babies were plush animals filled with plastic pellets.  The nine original characters introduced by Ty Inc. in 1993 were Legs the Frog, Squealer the Pig, Spot the Dog, Flash the Orca, Splash the Whale, Chocolate the Moose, Patti the Platypus, Brownie the Bear and Pinchers the Lobster.They didn’t sell well at first, but Ty released each generation in limited quantities that were retired before the next generation came out. In 1996, tags were added that identified their date of birth with a four-line poem about the character.

Timeline – 1974 Part 1

In the Sunday page featured in last week’s post, Beetle was the camp cartoonist. This episode showcases the artistry of a different character in the cast.

The drawings were done purposely in a simplistic, childlike style to contrast with the clean line professional rendering in the rest of the strip.
